The importance of an elementary school library

Elementary school is an essential part of nurturing a love of reading – a key ingredient for a child’s success in school.

The library is the heart to developing reading and writing skills in all students. As students develop reading skills, the library is the home of engaging books that open up the world for students to explore their interests. The library encourages children, from an early age to read and to realize that knowledge is more valuable than anything else.

The Lincoln Elementary School PTO has started a program to ensure that our library serves as the center of reading and literacy for our children for years to come. Our Lincoln families now have the opportunity to make a permanent, lifetime gift by donating a book for the benefit of all Lincoln readers and leaders.

Our librarian, Mrs. Rusnock, along with teachers from every grade will be continually adding book recommendations to this list. Please feel free to browse our list and if you would like to make a book donation, just follow these easy steps.

  1. Print out the form below
  2. Fill in the book info you would like to purchase
  3. Select a design and font style
  4. Send the form in along with payment

Your book will be featured for a few weeks in the library before being added to our collection. After that, your label will always remind future readers of your generous contribution.
